Swanwick Lions are proud to have been actively serving the Community
since 1976.
Swanwick Lions Club was formed under the sponsorship of Fareham Lions Club. In September 1976 the Club was granted its Charter, and proceeded to officially provide a service to the Sarisbury Green, Locks Heath, Park Gate and Whiteley communities. We serve these local communities by raising funds at local Fetes, and other charitable events. We provide activities such as games, BBQ, 'The Human Fruit Machine', bric-a-brac and book stalls. One of our main activities is the Father Christmas Sleigh, which commences at the beginning of December every year. Funds raised at these events are used to provide a service to our local community, by enhancing the work done by official service organisations- we are able to offer additional assistance when the official route has been exhausted, and our Welfare Committee appraises every request for help. As part of the Lions International organisation, we also use some funds to assist charitable needs throughout the world. Business meetings:- Business meetings are held monthly in Sarisbury Green Community Centre on the first Wednesday of the month, at 19.30 hrs. |
